Judgment
Heard.
Grievance of the petitioner in this petition is that during raid conducted at the premises of the husband of the petitioner, the investigating agency/Lokayukta Organization seized currency notes of Rs. 15 lacs from the premises of the husband of the petitioner and Rs. 1 lac from the bank locker and that amount may be returned back to the petitioner because Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes have been banned by the Government.
The counsel for Lokayukta Organization has submitted that the organization is willing to deposit the currency notes with the bank in a fixed deposit and in accordance with decision of the case the Court may order disbursement of the currency.
In view of the statement made by the counsel for Lokayukta Organization, it is ordered that the currency notes, which were seized from the premises of the husband of the petitioner and the bank locker, be deposited in fixed deposit with a nationalized bank before 31st December, 2016 and the amount may be disbursed in accordance with the direction that may be issued by the competent Court of jurisdiction or by the investigating agency in accordance with the outcome of the investigation.
The petition is disposed off accordingly.
No order as to costs.
