Report dated 10.04.2024 has been received from the Addl. District and Sessions Judge, Jajpur where it has been mentioned that the case record has been received in the Court on 13.03.2024 and was posted to 05.04.2024 for framing of charge. But as the accused could not be produced from jail custody on the said date, the case is now posted to 03.05.2024 for consideration of charge.
Mr. Partha Sarathi Nayak, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 27.07.2023 and although the FIR has been registered under Sections 498-A, 302, 304-B, 34 of IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act against the petitioner and Baidhar Jena, Nayana Jena, brother-Saroj Jena and sister-in-law Soni Jena but after completion of investigation, charge sheet dated 01.10.2023 has been submitted against the present petitioner Manoj Jena only.
Mr. M.R. Mishra, learned Addl. Standing Counsel for the State submits that the informant has informed Ms. S. Mishra, learned Addl. Standing Counsel that he wants to heard in the bail application and has prayed for a few days time in order to collect the relevant documents.
