[1] This is a Review Petition filed by the Manipur University and others praying for reviewing the judgment and order dated 01-09-2021 passed by this Court contending inter alia that in paragraph 4 of the order passed by this Court, this Court had recorded the averments made in the affidavit to the effect that the Accounts which was used by the said EMMRC, was being verified and the same wiould be finalised because of which payment could not be made.
[2] It has further been contended by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that in paragraph No. 7 of the order, it is stated that payment would be made subject to verification. On the other hand, Mr. M. Devananda, learned counsel appearing for the respondent/petitioner submits that the para 6 and 7 should be read together for the reason that in para 6 the prayer of the counsel appearing for the Manipur University was that it should be granted 6 months time to make payment. After having heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court directed that payment should be made within 4 months.
[3] Today, Review Petition is listed for consideration. It is unable to understand as to why the Manipur University being an institution, had not taken any action against any person violating the norms of the Manipur University nor had they paid the bills of the petitioners therein. If the University is of the prima facie opinion that the fraud appears to have been committed by any of the officials, it is the University to initiate disciplinary action against him in accordance with law.
[4] In view of the above, Review petition stands disposed of as it being devoid of any merit. It is open to the University to initiate any disciplinary action against any person who appears to be involved in the issue and take action thereafter in accordance with law.
