The petitioner No. 1, who was admitted to the five years LL.B. Course at the second respondent College for the academic year 1999-2000 and the petitioner No. 2, who was admitted to three years in LL.B. Course at the third respondent College for the academic year 2001-2002 are agitating their rights to appear for the Arbitration Conciliation and Alternate Dispute Resol, Land and Ceiling Laws, Intellectual Property Law and Human Rights for the 10th Semester in respect of the petitioner No. 1 and Family Law-II and Legal Theory of the 1st Semester, Company Law and Tort & Consumer Protection Law of the 2nd Semester, Constitutional Law, Property Law Including Transfer of Property Act, Public International Law and Interpretation of Statutes of the 3rd Semester and Land & Ceiling Laws of the 6th Semester in respect of the petitioner No. 2 for the LL.B. examination scheduled to take place in May 2012. Sri J.M. Umesh Murthy, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent No. 1 submits that the first respondent Academic Council in its meeting held on 23.3.2011 has passed the resolution to grant two more chances to all the students to complete the degree course. He has also placed on record a copy of the said resolution along with the memo.

Recording the passing of the resolution by the Academic Council, I allow these petitions by directing the respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to receive the examination fees from the petitioning students and to permit them to appear for the LL.B. examination taking place in May 2012 subject to the petitioners meeting the eligibility criteria in all other respects.

No order as to costs. Sri J.M. Umesh Murthy, the learned counsel is permitted to file his vakalath on behalf of respondent No. 1 in ten days time.
