R. Sudhakar, J.—W.P. (MD) No. 8305 of 2008 has been filed seeking a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for records relating to the impugned order of the second respondent in Ref. Na.Ka. KV 1/1373/2008 dated 07.08.2008 published in Virudhunagar District Gazette dated 08.08.2008 and quash the same and consequently direct the first respondent to consider the application made by the petitioner dated 04.03.2008 in accordance with the rules and consequently directing the first respondent to grant prospective licence or quarry licence in survey No. 782/2 admeasuring 21.08.5 hectares in Ayyankollan Kondan village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District. W.P. (MD) No. 8306 of 2008 has been filed seeking a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for records relating to the impugned order of the second respondent in Ref. Na.Ka. Kv. 2/544/2008 dated 29.08.2008 and the order of the second respondent in ref Na.Ka. KV 1/1373/2008 dated 07.08.2008 published in Virudhunagar District Gazette dated 08.08.2008 and quash the same and consequently direct the first respondent to consider the application made by the petitioner dated 04.03.2008 in accordance with the rules and consequently directing the first respondent to grant prospective licence or quarry licence in survey No. 777/4A admeasuring 28.32.5 hectares in Ayyankollan Kondan village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

W.P. (MD) No. 8307 of 2008 has been filed seeking a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for records relating to the impugned order of the second respondent in Ref. Na.Ka. Kv. 2/545/2008 dated 29.08.2008 and the order of the second respondent in ref Na.Ka. KV 1/1373/2008 dated 07.08.2008 published in Virudhunagar District Gazette dated 08.08.2008 and quash the same and consequently direct the first respondent to consider the application made by the petitioner dated 04.03.2008 in accordance with the rules and consequently directing the first respondent to grant prospective licence or quarry licence in survey No. 865 admeasuring 4.03.0 hectares and S. No. 846/1 admeasuring 8.52.0 hectares in Ayyankollan Kondan village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

Heard the submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

The issue involved in these writ petitions revolves around the rejection of a claim for issuance of a prospective mining licence for a period of three years under Rule 9(1) of the Granite Conservation and Development Rules, 1999.

The applications are of the year 2008 and the period of three years has already expired. Therefore, the relief sought for in these writ petitions, has become infructuous by efflux of time. In view of the above, all the writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. No costs.
