The present petition has been filed under Sections 29A(4) and 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 19961 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator, Hon’ble Ms. Justice Asha Menon (Retd.), Former Judge, Delhi High Court.

It is borne out by the record that vide order dated 19.08.2026, the learned Sole Arbitrator recorded that the arguments stood concluded and the matter was reserved for the award and, therefore, the arbitral proceedings have reached the stage of pronouncement of the award.

Affidavit of advance service has also been filed along with the petition. Despite advance service upon the Respondent, no one has appeared.

In view of the stage of the proceedings, sufficient cause is made out for extending the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator. No prejudice will be caused to any party by grant of an extension of the mandate by this Court as the matter stands reserved for the arbitral award.

Accordingly, the present petition is allowed and the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended for a further period of two months with effect from 19.09.2026. The intervening period till today also stands regularised.

The petition stands disposed of.
