The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to promote him to the post of Kanungo from the date his juniors were promoted, vide order dated 23.03.2023 (Annexure P-1), whereas the petitioner was not promoted and his case was kept in a sealed cover, on account of an FIR being pending against him, and to set aside the order dated 23.03.2023 (Annexure P-1), to the extent of keeping the case of the petitioner for promotion in a sealed cover and not considering the same.
Learned State counsel has produced copy of the order dated 17.02.2026, passed by the District Collector, Gurdaspur, whereby the petitioner has been dismissed from service on the basis of conviction in the criminal case. The same is taken on record. A copy of the same has been supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioner.
In this view of the matter, learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the present petition at this stage.
Dismissed as not pressed at this stage.
