Harbans Lal, J.—This petition u/s 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed for quashing the FIR No. 147 dated 13th September, 2007, registered u/s 312 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 at Police Station Chabal, District Tarn Taran and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the ground of affidavit in the form of compromise (Annexure P- 2).

2.

The grounds pleaded are that the parties have compromised the matter with the intervention of the respectables, therefore, no useful purpose would be served if the proceedings are allowed to continue. An affidavit in the form of compromise has been sworn by the respondent-complainant wherein she has stated that she does not want to take any legal action against the petitioner.

3.

In view of the law laid down by the Full Bench of this Court in re: Kulwinder Singh and others v. State of Punjab and another, 2007 (3) RCR(Crl.) 1052 (P&H)(FB), the Court is competent to quash the proceedings on the basis of compromise. Sequelly, this petition is accepted and FIR No. 147 dated 13th September, 2007, registered u/s 312 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 at Police Station Chabal, District Tarn Taran and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
