The petitioners have filed the present applications seeking interim suspension of sentence for a period of eight weeks or till their respective
applications seeking suspension of sentence â€" Crl.(M.) BAIL 356/2020 in Crl.Rev.P.186/2020, Crl.(M.) BAIL 360/2020 in Crl.Rev.P.190/2020 &
Crl.(M) BAIL 361/2020 in Crl.Rev.P.191/2020 â€" are decided.
The petitioners were convicted for an offence punishable under Sections 323/325/34 of the IPC by the trial Court. They were sentenced to serve
imprisonment for a period of one year. The said sentence was reduced by the appellate court by an order dated 24.02.2020, which is impugned in the
present petition.
It is stated that the victims are related to the petitioners and there were some dispute between them. The petitioner state that they have since
resolved all their disputes with the victims and the victims have filed affidavits stating that they have no objection if the offences are compounded.
Notices have been issued to the victims. However, they have not joined any proceedings as yet. Considering the offences are compoundable, this
Court considers it apposite to allow these applications and suspend the sentence on interim basis till the respective applications of the petitioners [Crl.
(M.) BAIL 356/2020, Crl.(M.) BAIL 360/2020 & Crl.(M) BAIL 361/2020] are disposed of. The petitioners shall be released forthwith subject to the
petitioners furnishing Personal Bonds in the sum of ₹10,000/-each to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent.
The applications are allowed in the aforesaid terms.
