The present petition u/s 482 Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed by the Petitioners for issuing directions to Respondent No. 1 to 3 for providing protection to their lives and liberty at the hands of Respondent No. 4.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioners contends that earlier Petitioner No. 1 was married in Canada and was divorced in the year 2004 by decree of divorce dated 8.11.2004 issued by Supreme Court of British Columbia and no appeal against that decree of divorce was filed and the same has attained finality. Learned Counsel further contends that both the Petitioners are major and have solemnized their marriage but father of Petitioner No. 1 is not happy with the marriage and now the Petitioners are apprehending threat at the hands of Respondent No. 4. Learned Counsel also contends that Petitioners have also made representation in this regard to the police authorities, copy of which is annexed as Annexure P-6 with the petition but no action has been taken.

Without commenting anything on the merits of case as well as validity of the marriage at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Respondent No. 2-Police Commissioner, Ludhiana to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law, after calling the Petitioners, if necessary and if comes to the conclusion that threat is there then necessary protection be granted to them.

Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
