Petitioner has challenged his non-selection for the post of Driver (Group-C) for which the State authorities had invited applications and the petitioner had applied.
The petitioner has raised general challenges to the selection process, without citing any specific ground of arbitrariness or mala fides on behalf of the official respondents. When the parameters applied by the selecting body are not under challenge and when neither any arbitrariness nor mala fides are established in applying such parameters, the role of a Court re-examining such selection process would become extremely narrow. Learned counsel for the petitioner candidly and fairly brought to my notice a judgment of the learned Single Judge dated 17.01.2020 passed in WP(C) No.1553 of 2017 and connected petitions in case of Sri Phatik Roy vrs. The State of Tripura and others, by which similar challenge at the hands of other unsuccessful candidates of the said recruitment process came to be dismissed.
Without recording further reasons, this petition also, therefore, dismissed.
