This petition raises a short point. The petitioner has been issued order dated 12.03.2024 by which he has been asked to execute a bond of Rs.20,000/- with a surety of a like amount for the next four months to ensure the maintenance of peace and tranquility during the upcoming elections 2024. The order narrates that a hearing was scheduled under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Cr.P.C.) and pursuant to the provisions of Section 111 of the Cr.P.C. the petitioner was summoned to show cause as to why a bond with surety should not be passed against them. The petitioner challenges this order on the ground that he has not been served with any notice as mentioned in the order. Issue notice. The learned Additional Advocate General accepts notices on behalf of the respondents and seeks two days time to place the necessary documents relating to this case to enable the court to take an appropriate call in the matter.
In the meanwhile as assured by the learned Additional Advocate General no coercive steps be taken by the respondents till the next date.
