The present petition has been filed for quashing of F.I.R. No. 171/2017 dated 26-05-2017, registered at Police Station, Domana, Jammu, and the subsequent proceedings thereto.
The petitioner NOs. 1&3 and the respondent No.3/complainant are present in person in the Court. Both the parties stated that the dispute, which was a result of a matrimonial dispute between the respondent No.3 and her husband, namely Ram Paul - brother of petitioner No.1, has been settled amicably in terms of a Compromise Deed signed between respondent No.3 and the said Ram Paul on 27-09-2017 and in terms whereof, even the decree of divorce has also been passed by the Court of learned Additional District Judge (Matrimonial Cases), Jammu, on 27-03-2018. It was agreed between the parties that all other pending disputes shall also stand settled and the F.I.R No. 171/2017 dated 26-05-2017, registered on the complaint of respondent No.3 will be quashed as she will not have any objection thereto.
The parties, who are present in the Court, have got their Joint statement recorded in the open Court.
Once the matter in dispute has been compromised between the parties, no useful purpose will be served by proceeding with the prosecution. Accordingly, F.I.R No. 171/2017 dated 26-05-2017, registered at Police Station, Domana, Jammu, and all subsequent proceedings arising there from are quashed.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
