Surya Kant, J.—The petitioners, along with other persons, filed CWP No. 1609 of 2005 which was disposed of on January 28, 2005 with a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the legal notice served on their behalf by passing a speaking order. The legal notice was required to be disposed of after taking note of the ratio of the judgments which were appended with the writ petition.

Alleging non-compliance of the aforesaid order, this contempt petition has been filed.

In response to the show cause notice, Harcharanjit Kaur Brar, Director of Public Instructions (SE), Punjab has filed her affidavit, which is taken on record. Along with the said affidavit, a copy of the order dated May 29, 2006 has been appended as Annexure R-1 whereby a policy decision appears to have been taken for counting of the ad hoc service towards pensionary benefits. A clarification in this regard has also been sent to the Accountant General (A&E), Punjab vide memo Annexure R-1/2. In terms of the said policy, the revised pension case of the petitioners has also been sent to the Accountant General (A&E) vide letter dated June 23, 2006 (Annexure R-2).

By taking the afore-mentioned steps the respondents have complied with the directions issued by this Court. However, having regard to the fact that the petitioners are old retirees, the Accountant General (A&E), Punjab is directed to dispose of the revised pension cases, in terms of the judgments passed by this Court from time to time, expeditiously as early as possible and preferably within one month. Disposed of.
