The petitioner is aggrieved by the revenue recovery proceedings initiated against him. He is stated to be the owner of a lorry bearing registration No. KL.08P.1195, which according to him was stolen by somebody and a crime has been registered by the Aluva Police Station as Crime No. 585/07. The petitioner is facing revenue recovery on account of the tax arrears due on the vehicle. Exhibit P4 is the communication issued by the first respondent to the petitioner dated 25.6.2011 seeking for payment of tax. The amount demanded is Rs. 27,690/-. Evidently, future interest also will be there. The petitioner is seeking for a direction to permit him to pay the amount in instalments.

In that view of the matter, the petitioner will pay an amount of Rs. 5,000/-(Rupees Five Thousand only) on or before 31.3.2012 and the balance amount will be paid in six equal monthly instalments starting from April 2012. The payment will be made before the 30th of every month. If any default is committed in making the payment, the respondents are free to proceed with the recovery steps.

The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
