Judgment

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has preferred a representation at Ext.P4 for extension of time for remitting tax upto
the end of this month. Learned counsel also submits that the representation at Ext.P4 has been forwarded to all the respondents. It is further submitted
that this writ petition can be disposed of by directing the respondent-State to decide the representation, Ext.P4, by the end of this month.
Learned Government Pleader submits that it is within the purview of the State to decide whether to grant extension of time for remittance of tax or
not and this Court cannot direct the State to extend the time for remittance of tax. It is also submitted that the representation at Ext.P4 is only
addressed to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala and copies, if any, forwarded to the respondents herein are not annexed to the petition.
Keeping in mind the fact that the representation at Ext.P4 is reportedly pending before the State Government, this writ petition is disposed of with
the following direction:
The respondents, more particularly the 1st  respondent is directed to decide the representation at Ext.P4, if the same is pending, preferably by the
end of this month. Learned Government Pleader to communicate this judgment to the respondents.
