Application is allowed. Reply on behalf of Respondents is taken on record. Filing of photocopies of Annexures is dispensed with.

The writ petition filed by the Petitioner claiming the writ of mandamus and directing the Respondents to correct the tentative seniority, was disposed of on 3.11.2009 and directions were issued to the Respondents to finalize the seniority list of Junior Engineers (Civil) within a period of six months after inviting objections from all the concerned persons with respect to their inter-se seniority position.
In terms of the said direction, a tentative seniority list was circulated on 28.4.2010. A final seniority list stands circulated on 31.8.2010.
Learned Counsel for the Petitioner contends that in a tentative seniority list, he was placed senior but in the final seniority list, he has been placed junior to Kuldeep Singh as well as to Chander Mohan Dhull. Thus, it is contended that seniority list has not been finalized legally and properly.
The question whether the seniority list is legal, proper and justified or in terms of the rules is not the question which can be examined by the contempt Court. Therefore, it is open to the Petitioner to seek his remedy against the final seniority list in appropriate proceedings according to law.
Consequently, the present petition stands dismissed
