Judgment
This petition has been filed by the father of the missing girl namely; Ranjani who is said to be about 16 years and reported to be missing since 24/09/2009. A report to this effect was lodged with the SHO Police Station, Harmada, Jaipur on 25/09/2009 as FIR No. 438 of 2009.
Shri Dharamveer Singh, SHO, Police Station, Harmada, Jaipur is present and so also the Petitioner namely; Kedar. The SHO, who has been investigating the matter, informed the Court about the progress of the investigation taken so far. The Petitioner, who is father of Ranjani, has also confirmed that the SHO and Police Officers are making all efforts to trace the detenue and the Petitioner is also being taken into confidence by the Police for the purpose of investigation in locating the missing person. However, so far no positive information regarding missing person has been received.
In the facts and circumstances, we would direct that investigation shall be carried out by the concerned Police Station and in addition the matter may also be taken up by the Central Cell constituted under the Inspector General of Police in this behalf. The progress of the investigation shall be reported to the concerned Magistrate having jurisdiction over the Police Station, Harmada, District Jaipur. The Petitioner would have right to obtain any information which he may receive regarding missing person with the concerned Police Officer including the SHO and person in-charge of the Central team constituted under the Inspector General of Police. The Petitioner would also have right to obtain the information regarding investigation carried out or as reported before the learned Magistrate.
Subject to the above, this petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid directions.
