Judgment

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Mandamus so as to direct the respondents to grant the benefit of family pension to the petitioner on account of death of her unmarried daughter.
At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer for issuance of a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur to consider and dispose of the legal notice dated 11.7.2023 in accordance with law.

On the asking of this Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court accepts notice.
Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, but without commenting anything as regards the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur, to consider and dispose of the legal notice dated 11.7.2023 (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of 3 months from today.
A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 11.7.2023 (Annexure P-2) be sent to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur, for necessary compliance.
