Heard Shri M. Hemchandra, learned Senior Advocate appearing for the petitioner.

This is an application filed by the applicant/ petitioner for grant of anticipatory bail. A case under FIR No.37(5)2021 MRG PS u/s 406/420/506/120B

IPC & ors. relating to allegations of having indulged in criminal offences about the unregulated deposit of money and cheating etc. has been registered

by the police on the basis of which some persons have been arrested by the police and kept in police/ judicial custody while two persons have been

granted interim anticipatory bail.

The grievance of the applicant/petitioner is that the police is said to be looking for his arrest and therefore, the instant application has been filed on the

inter-alia grounds that he is a student of M.A in Manipur University; that he is not involved in any other case earlier and that his name is not mentioned

in the said FIR. It has been submitted by the counsel appearing for the applicant/ petitioner that since the application has nothing to do with the alleged

offences, he may be allowed to be released on anticipatory bail.

In view of the above submissions, let notice be issued to the respondents returnable on 11-06-2021 and in the meantime, Shri Samarjeet Hawaibam,

learned Government Advocate may file a response/ objection to the said application. Since the notice has been accepted by him on behalf of the

respondents, no formal notice is called for.

By way of an interim measure, it is directed that the applicant/ petitioner, Shri Kapil Kumar Singh Khundrakpam shall not be arrested by the police till

11-06-2021 in connection with the aforesaid FIR.
