By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following relief:

“I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent Election Officer for District Cooperative Bank, Almora to decide the objections dated 5-9-2026 filed by the petitioner within a prescribed time period, before undertaking any further steps, by a reasoned and speaking order as per law and legal provisions, as highlighted by the petitioner in her objections, supported with due material and evidence. (Ref:-Annexure no. 9 @ Page No. 21-24).”

According to petitioner, she is a delegate from Tamra Udhyog Sahkari Simiti, Almora to the general body of District Cooperative Bank, Almora.

It is contended that election process for constituting Committee of Management of District Cooperative Bank, Almora was initiated vide notification dated 05.08.2026 and certain persons had submitted nomination papers and petitioner had filed objection against nomination papers filed by some such persons, but, the Election Officer has not taken any decision on the objection.

Learned State Counsel submits that due to natural calamity caused because of excessive rain, the election process was kept in abeyance, however, election process has now been re-notified, on 16.09.2026. He further submits that as per programme published by Cooperative Election Tribunal, the objection to nomination papers shall be considered on 21.09.2026.

The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to Election Officer to consider the objection filed by petitioner to nomination papers of certain candidates and pass appropriate order, as per law, before proceeding any further in the matter.
