Judgment

[1] This application has been filed seeking disbursement of the amount of compensation awarded to petitioner Sumon Debbarma in terms of the settlement arrived at between the parties in the National Lok Adalat held in the High Court premises on 23.11.2013. The order dated 23.11.2013 passed by this court in MAC App. 38 of 2003(D/O) will demonstrate that in terms of the settlement between the parties in the said National Lok Adalat, United Insurance Company Ltd. (respondent No.3) was directed to pay an additional amount of Rs.2,00,000/- along with 9% annual interest thereon within 60 days.
[2] It appears from the various notes of the Registry that thereafter the said Insurance Company has deposited the amount along with interest accrued thereon at the Registry and the share of other three appellants have been disbursed in their favour by this time.
[3] Share of the petitioner was invested in a term deposit since he was a minor on the date of settlement.
[4] It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that by this time petitioner Sumon Debbarma has attained majority and therefore the amount invested in his name along with the interest accrued thereon may be released in his favour.
[5] The admit card of the petitioner issued by the Secretary, Tripura Board of Secondary Education goes to show that date of birth of the petitioner is 03.04.1999. The Petitioner has thus attained majority. Registry is therefore directed to disburse the share of the petitioner along with interest accrued thereon by handing over his FDR to petitioner Sumon Debbarma on verification of his identity within a period of 10 days. The petitioner is directed to appear in person before the concerned section of the Registry for this purpose.
In terms of the above, the I.A is disposed of.
