G.Ilangovan, J
The petitioner/Accused rank not known, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Section 7(1) and 7(3) of Tamil Nadu Lottery Regulation Act, 1998, in Crime No.354 of 2023 on the file of the respondent Police, seek anticipatory bail.
The case of the prosecution is that when the defacto complainant conducted raid at Palani Town, the accused person was standing in the said place, on seeing the police party, he tried to escape from that place, but the respondentt police caught him and when the police interrogated, he admitted that he is selling the banned Kerala State lottery tickets. Hence, he was arrested and the above said lottery tickets were recovered.
The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioner is an innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case.
The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that there is no case registered against the petitioner so far and no enquiry is pending against the petitioner.
Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed as unncessary.
In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as unncessary.
