Judgment
M.M.S. Bedi, J.—This order will dispose of the above noted two petitions i.e., Crl. Misc. No. M-30387, filed by Jorawar Singh and others and Crl. Misc. No. M-30452, filed by Jagdish Kumar and others, for quashing of FIR No. 156 dated 12.09.2009, under Sections 323, 324, & 326/34 IPC, registered at Police Station, Division No. 5, Jalandhar, and the cross version, on the basis of compromise.
The said FIR was registered at the instance of Jagdish Kumar alleging that he had been assaulted by Jorawar Singh and others whereas the cross-version was recorded at the instance of Gurdeep Singh, alleging that he had been assaulted by Jagdish Kumar and Monu. The parties have entered into compromise.
Jagdish Kumar and Gurdeep Singh are present in the Court. They have stated that the matter has been compromised. They have admitted the compromise Annexure P-1 attached with both the petitions.
I am satisfied that the matter has been amicably settled.
Following the judgment in case Kulwinder Singh and Ors. v. State of Punjab 2007(3) RCR 1052, the above said FIR and the cross version as well as all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed. However, since the precious time of the Courts and the police has been wasted, it is ordered that a total sum of Rs. 10,000/-will be deposited with the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Sector 22, Chandigarh, by Jorawar Singh, Gurdeep Singh and Gurvinder Singh, and another sum of Rs. 7,000/-will be deposited by Jagdish Kumar and Monu with the Punjab Police Welfare Fund, Sector 9, Chandigarh, within a period of one month.
