Judgment
DINESH KUMAR SINGH, J.
The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for the following reliefs;
(i) To issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to take necessary steps to renew the passport of the petitioner in view of Exhibit P1 and Exhibit P5 orders of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court No.I, Aluva, for a period of 5 years forthwith.
(ii) To issue any other writ or direction appropriate in the circumstances of this case.
The learned Counsel for the respondents, Ms. Bea Mary submits that the petitioner’s passport has already expired and it cannot be renewed. Petitioner has to apply for fresh passport. However, since the petitioner is stuck abroad as his passport has got expired, the 3rd respondent will issue necessary emergency certificate facilitating the travel of the petitioner from Australia to India on an application to be moved by the petitioner himself before the 3rd respondent.
Considering the aforesaid stand of the respondents, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with direction to the petitioner to move an application before the 3rd respondent for emergency certificate facilitating the travel of the petitioner from Australia to India and the 3rd respondent shall issue necessary documents in favour of the petitioner to ensure that the petitioner is able to travel to India.
