Judgment
Ritu Bahri, J.—The petitioners have challenged the appointment of respondents Nos. 4 and 5, who have been appointed in Khalsa College, Amritsar, ignoring the advertisement (Annexure P-1) which was issued on 23.11.1988. Vide this advertisement, applications were invited for the post of Lecturer and Clerk in Khalsa College, Amritsar. Respondent No. 5 S. Parkash Singh has been appointed vide order dated 17.1.1989 (Annexure P-5). As per condition No. 1, this appointment was up to the age of 65 years at the consolidated salary of Rs. 3000/ - per month. In paragraph 14 of the writ petition, petitioners have stated the age of respondent No. 5 as 62 years at the time of appointment. The writ petition was admitted in the year 1989. By efflux of time respondent No. 5 has completed her tenure on the post. As per respondent No. 4 is concerned, she was appointed on the post of Clerk on 10.5.1986. She is holding the post till date.
The appointment of respondent No. 4 was not in pursuance to the advertisement Annexure P-1. Learned Counsel for the petitioners does not dispute her appointment.
In view of the above fact, the writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.
