Judgment
Prayer in this petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for issuance of a direction to respondent No.2 to protect the petitioner at the hands of private
respondents No.3 to 5.
Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner was married with respondent No.3 Daljit Kaur. Since there were some temperamental
differences between them, a decree of divorce under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 was passed by learned Additional Sessions
Judge, Gurdaspur vide judgment and decree dated 02.02.2017. Still, the respondents No.3 to 5 are threatening the petitioner and his family members.
He further states that at this stage, the petitioner confines his prayer to the extent of protection of his life and liberty only and would be satisfied in
case a direction is issued to the respondent No.2 Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, District Gurdaspur to consider the representation dated
11.09.2018 (Annexure P-2) made by the petitioner regarding protection of his life and liberty only at the hands of private respondents No.3 to 5.

On asking of this Court, Mr. Rana Harjasdeep Singh, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of these respondents.
Let requisite number of copies of paper book be given to learned State counsel during the course of the day.

Without making any observation on the merits of the case and considering the fact that the petitioner has confined his prayer qua protection of his life
and liberty only, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the contents of representation (Annexure P-2) qua
protection of life and liberty of the petitioner only at the hands of private respondents No.3 to 5 and to act in accordance with law.
