Judgment
B.A. Zaidi, J.—Accusedapplicant who is said td be a 50 years old lady, is charged with having thrown Acid on the injured person disfiguring his face and making one eyenonfunctional. She has come for bail here.
Heard Sri B.K. Tripathi, Advocate for the applicant and Sri Mohammad Israil Siddiqui, Addl. Government Advocate for the State.
The contention from the side of the accused is that the injured person along with some persons had come to the house of the accused because of some dispute about land, and with him a canister of Acid which slipped from his hand and fell on his face, in consequence whereof, he sustained the injuries.
Primafacie, the defence version has numerous holes and lacunas. In any case, the veracity thereof will have to be examined at the time of trial.
Disfiguring a man''s face by throwing Acid must be taken as one of the most heinous crime, and the circumstances that the charge is only under section 326 I.P.C. or that the applicant is a lady, cannot obliterate, the gravity of the offence.
Bail refused.
Application rejected.
The trial Court is, however, advised to accelerate the trial.
