Judgment
Arindam Lodh, J
Heard Mr. B. Banerjee, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. K. De, learned Addl. G.A appearing for respondents no.1 and 2 and Mr. D. Bhattacharya, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. P. Saha, learned counsel appearing for respondent no.3.
The brief fact of the case is that the petitioner had retired from service in the month of January, 2020. It is the grievance of the petitioner that till today he has not been paid any pensionary benefit including gratuity.
As such, in my opinion a huge cost is to be imposed on the officer concerned who is responsible to process the file of the petitioner. However, I am giving an opportunity to learned counsels to file reply, but, it is made clear that Mr. Bhattacharya, learned senior counsel shall positively inform this Court about the name of the person responsible to process the file of the petitioner and the post he holds by the next date as well as the pay scale of the said officer and the salary he is drawing presently.
List the matter on 21.11.2022. A copy of this order may be furnished to Mr. Bhattacharya, learned senior counsel.
