Judgment

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.4 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga, District Moga to look into the matter and to ensure that the matter pertaining to FIR No.10, dated 10.2.2023 registered at Police Station Sadar Moga, District Moga, under Sections 7 and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Amendment Act, 2018 is got investigated expeditiously and fairly in accordance with law, so that a final report is submitted thereafter at the earliest.
Since the private respondents i.e. respondents No.5 to 8 happen to be police officials, it is directed that respondent No.3 – Inspector General Range, Faridkot, Faridkot shall examine the matter to consider as to whether there is any need for constitution of any Special Investigating Team (SIT) or not.
A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.4 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga, District Moga for necessary compliance.
