This is a Criminal Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondent Nos.2 and 3 for the protection of life and liberty of the petitioner. Further prayer has been made for issuance of direction to fairly investigate FIR No.144 dated 26. 03.2022 registered under Sections 406, 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Sohana, District SAS Nagar.

Status report on behalf of the State has been filed today in the Court which is taken on record.

Learned State Counsel, on instructions from ASI Om Prakash, PS Sohana, Mohali, has submitted that as far as FIR No.144 dated 26. 03.2022 is concerned, the investigation is complete and the report under Section 173 Cr.P.C. has been prepared and the same is likely to be submitted in the near future. It is further submitted that as far as protection of the petitioner is concerned, no untoward incident has taken place till date but in case the petitioner apprehends or any such incident takes place in future, the petitioner may file a representation to respondent No.2 and respondent No.2 would look into the same.

Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that at this stage, in view of the statement made by learned State Counsel, the present petition may kindly be disposed of.

Keeping in view the abovesaid facts and circumstances, the present petition is disposed of, at this stage granting liberty to the petitioner to move a representation before respondent No.2 in case the petitioner has any apprehension or any threat to his life and liberty and in case of his doing so, respondent No.2 would look into the same and consider the same in accordance with law.

All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand disposed of in view of the abovesaid order.
