Judgment

Prayer in this petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for issuance of directions to official respondent Nos.2 to 4 to not conduct unnecessary raids at their house and to not harass them.
At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are senior citizens, aged about 70 and 67 years, respectively. Their son namely Gurbhej Singh has been falsely nominated as an accused in case FIR No.55 dated 10.07.2023, under Section 302 and 34 IPC, registered at Police Station Sarai Amant Khan, Tehsil and District Tarn Taran. The petitioners do not know about the whereabouts of their son and are being harassed by the police by conducting raids at their house and threatening them. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have made representation dated 12.10.2023 (Annexure P-4) to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran-respondent No.2 and Station House Office, Police Station Sarai Amant Khan-respondent No.4, which is still pending consideration. He submits that the petitioners, at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran-respondent No.2 to consider and decide their representation in a time bound manner.

Mr. Sarabjit Singh Cheema, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and waives service. Learned State counsel submits that the representation dated 12.10.2023 (Annexure P-4) will be decided within the time as stipulated by this Court.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter or commenting thereon, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran-respondent No.2, to consider the aforesaid representation dated 12.10.2023 (Annexure P-4) and decide the same in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
