Judgment
Viney Mittal, J.—The prayer made in the application is allowed. Fresh copies of Annexures P.2, P4 to P.6 are taken on record.
The petitioners have approached this Court for issuance of directions to the respondents to create the promotional channel from the post of constable to the post of Head Constable in the Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police and consider the cases of the petitioners for promotion to the post of Head Constables. The petitioners rely upon various judgments of the Apex Court in this regard.
From the perusal of the record, we find that a legal notice dated July 1, 2006 (Annexure P.7) has been issued by the petitioners, which remains unresponded.
In this view of the matter, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioners, we dispose of the present petition with a direction to the Director General of Police, Punjab, respondent No. 2 to take a final decision on the aforesaid legal notice (Annexure P.7) within a period of six months from the date a certified copy of this order is received, by passing a detailed and speaking order.
A copy of the order be given dasti on payment of usual charges.
