Judgment

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioners being aggrieved with the order dated 22.09.2022 passed by the District Magistrate and Chairman Appellate Tribunal, Hanumangarh (hereinafter to be referred as ‘the appellate tribunal’), whereby the appellate tribunal has partly allowed the appeal filed by the petitioners and ordered the petitioners to pay monthly maintenance to the tune of Rs.5,000/- to the respondents.
The above referred appeal was preferred by the petitioners against the order dated 02.02.2022 passed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Bhadra, District Hanumangarh (hereinafter to be referred as ‘the trial court’), whereby on an application filed by the respondent and under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, the trial court ordered the petitioners to pay monthly maintenance to the tune of Rs.10,000/- to the respondent.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the courts below have illegally ordered the petitioners to pay monthly maintenance to the respondent as the respondent is having sufficient means to maintain himself.
Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and after perusing the material available on record, this Court is of the opinion that the petitioners have failed to produce cogent evidence as well as specific material in support of their claim that the respondent is having sufficient sources to maintain himself.
In view of the above, I don’t find any illegality in the orders passed by the courts below.
Hence, this writ petition is dismissed.
Stay petition also stands dismissed.
