The present petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking a direction to the trial court to finalize the judgment within a period of two months or as it deem fit and appropriate by this Court.
Learned trial court has submitted its response, in which it is stated that the delay has occasioned because of the reason that the defence counsel has time and again sought time for submitting his written arguments which he has ultimately submitted on 31.10.2019.
This Court has obtained the information from the concerned Court and it transpires that the challan is still pending.
Keeping in view the relief sought in this petition, this petition can be and is disposed of with a direction to the trial court to dispose of the matter expeditiously taking into consideration the SOPs as prescribed by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir during COVID-19 pandemic. The needful shall be done preferably within a period of two months from the date a copy of this order is made available to the trial court. The Registry shall send copy of this order to the trial court forthwith.
