I.A. No.06 of 2025 is an application on behalf of the Petitioners seeking stay of the operation and implementation of the Sikkim Public Demands Recovery (Amendment) Act, 2025, and for placing the proposal letters on record.
I.A. No.05 of 2025 is an amendment application on behalf of the Petitioners seeking to incorporate the following additional prayer after Prayer (i) of the Writ Petition;
(j) To issue an appropriate writ, order, or direction quashing and setting aside the Sikkim Public Demands Recovery (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act No.06 of 2025) for being unconstitutional, arbitrary, discriminatory, and repugnant to the Central law.
Learned Counsel for the Respondent No.1 submits that he seeks to file response to both the I.As (supra) in the interregnum.
It is also noticed that the Orders of this Court dated 21-03-2025 and 26-06-2025 pertaining to deposit of ₹ 10,00,00,000/- (Rupees ten crores) only, are yet to be complied with by the Petitioners.
