Judgment
Manmohan, J. - Present writ petitions have been filed seeking a direction to respondents to allow export goods of petitioners'' ''back to town''.
Petitioners further seek direction to the respondents to issue detention certificates for the period of holding up of goods.
Learned counsel for petitioners states that even after let exports being allowed by Customs, petitioners'' consignments were not allowed to be shipped and kept on hold by the respondents. He further states that despite repeated requests to ship the seasonal goods, no action was taken by the respondents, which led to cancellation of export orders by the buyers, causing financial loss as well as loss of reputation and credibility of the petitioners in the market.
Issue notice.
Notice is accepted on behalf of the respondents. Ms. Sonia Mathur, learned Senior Standing Counsel for Customs states that she has no instructions in the present cases.
A perusal of the paper book reveals that the present writ petitions have been filed as various representations of the petitioners have not been replied to by the respondents.
Consequently, this Court disposes of the present writ petitions along with the applications by directing the respondents to treat the present writ petitions as representations of the petitioners and to decide the same within a period of two weeks, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.
Needless to say that the petitioners will cooperate with the respondents.
