In view of the practice direction dated 13.07.2026 issued by this Court, one last opportunity was granted for four weeks whereby, the Decree Holder ought to deposit the sufficient stamp duty on the award sought to be enforced.

The aforesaid time period has come to an end on 13.08.2026, i.e. yesterday, hence, no further indulgence can be granted.

It is trite that the stamp duty is a curable defect, however, the defect shall be cured in accordance with the Indian Stamp Act, 1899^{11.As applicable in NCT of Delhi; “Act” hereinafter}.

Accordingly, the award is liable to be impounded under Section 33 of the Act for the payment of sufficient stamp duty and/or penalty.

In view of the above, the Decree Holder is directed to furnish the original award within four weeks from today before the Registry of this Court.

List on 31.08.2026 before the Joint Registrar for the needful.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of.

Needless to say, the Decree Holder is at liberty to file a restoration application upon payment of sufficient stamp duty along with penalty, if any, in accordance with the Act.
