The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent nos. 1 & 2 to place the options exercised by the petitioner for his transfer for the transfer season June, 2026 for consideration before the Transfer Committee.
The petitioner holds the post of Professor, (Zoology) at Government Post Graduate College, Jashimath, Chamoli. He is stated to have exercised his option for transfer during transfer season 2026. As per the Transfer Act, the last date for effecting transfer is 30th June, 2026, which has already expired.
In such view of the matter, we are not inclined to issue any direction. We leave it open to the petitioner to exercise his option for transfer in the next transfer season and it goes without saying that his request would be considered in accordance with law.
The writ petition is disposed of.
