Judgment
Harkesh Maanuja, J
[1]. By way of present writ petition, prayer has been made for issuancee of directions to thee respondents to release the amount of compensation granted vide Award dated 06.08.2021 passed by respondent No.2.

In the present case, some land owned by the petitioner/landowner situated in the reevenue estate of village Verka, Tehsil Amrtisar 2, District Amritsar, came to be acquired vide Notifications dated 21.09.2020 and 17.02.2021 issued under Sections 3A & 3A(1) of the National Highways Act, 1956 respectiveely, followed by passing of Award dated 06.08.2021 by the Competent Authority, Land Acquisition-cumm-Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ammritsar 2.
[3]. It has come on record that in terms of the aforementioned Awaard, respondent-NHAAI deposited the amount of compensation with respondent No.4 on 07.10.2021, howwever the same was released in favour of the petitioner/landowner only on 16.01.20025.
[4]. Leaarned State counsel submit thatt infact the possession of the land was taken over from the petitioner-landowner only in April 2025 with the helpp of police.
[5]. In such circumstances, once the possession was retained by the petitioner-landowner, he would not be held enttitled to any interest on accountt of payment made to him on 16.01.2025 as the posssession was handed over only in the month of April 2025.
[6]. In view of above, no orders are reequired to be passed in the pressent writ petition, thee same stands disposed of.
