In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent-University to grant the petitioner the benefit of promotion under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) along with promotion to the post of Professor w.e.f. February, 2022, after duly counting the service rendered by the petitioner in Bhai Gurdas College of Law, Sangrur, w.e.f. 28.02.2007 to 21.01.2010.
The grievance of the petitioner is that as the matter was pending before the Screening Committee and the petitioner has filed a complaint against one of the Members of the Screening Committee, it was an apprehension of the petitioner that the Screening Committee will not recommend the case in favour of the petitioner.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents-University submits that the case of the petitioner has already been recommended by the Screening Committee in favour of the petitioner on 25.10.2024 to the Syndicate and the Syndicate will take a decision at the earliest.
4 In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents-University (Syndicate) to take an appropriate decision on the recommendations made by the Screening Committee in regard to service rendered by the petitioner from 28.02.2007 to 21.01.2010 at Bhai Gurdas College of Law, Sangrur for the purpose of benefit of promotion under the Career Advancement Scheme, within a period of 06 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand(s) disposed of.
