The petitioner is serving as a Sub-Inspector of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and was deployed as the Additional

Local Registrar of Citizen Registration (ALRCR), in the establishment of the District Magistrate, Kamrup (M). The officer was transferred to

Morigaon but as one of the engaged officer for the NRC verification works, the ALRCR is required to be retained in his present place of posting.

The learned counsel Ms. B. Bhuyan refers to the communication dated 19.1.2018 (page-47) of the District Magistrate, to the Director of Food,

Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, for retention of the petitioner at Guwahati but the counsel points out that pressure is being

mounted to force the petitioner to move to Morigaon.

In view of above, let notice returnable in 4 weeks be issued. Mr. N. Goswami, the learned Govt. Advocate, accepts notice for respondent

Nos.1?7. Necessary extra copies be furnished to him. Petitioner to ensure service on the respondent No.8, by Regd. Post.

In the interim, the authorities should comply with the District Magistrate''s direction dated 19.1.2018 (page-47), in respect of the petitioner''s

transfer order dated 10.1.2018 (Annexure-G). In other words, the impugned order dated 10.1.2018 (Annexure-G), in so far as the petitioner is

concerned, is stayed.
