The petitioner through the instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to release her family pension.
The petitioner claims that she is duly wedded second wife of Gurbachan Singh Mann who had served State of Punjab as an IPS Officer. The said officer passed away on 03.11.2020.
Mr. R.S. Randhawa, Advocate, submits that there are many documents on record disclosing petitioner was duly wedded wife of late Sh.Gurbachan Singh Mann. She is entitled to family pension. There is no reason to deny family pension, especially when no child is entitled to pension.
Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab submits that Competent Authority would consider documents furnished by petitioner and take an appropriate decision within 3 months from today.
Disposed of accordingly.
The Competent Authority would consider documents filed along with present petition and if need arises, ask the petitioner to furnish requisite documents.
