Heard on petition.

It is submitted by counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are owners of the land situated at village Chandrapur, Tehsil Dabhra, District Janjgir-Champa. After the construction of Kalma Barrage, the portion of the agricultural land of the petitioners in all the cases have come under submergence area of the Barrage. Acquisition proceedings with respect to the land under submergence have not been drawn, with respect to the land of the petitioners. Therefore, it is prayed that a specific direction be issued to the respondent authorities to initiate the acquisition proceedings and grant compensation to the petitioners.

Learned State counsel submits that the petition may be disposed off with a direction.

After considering on the submissions and perusing the documents filed alongwith the petition, this petition is disposed off at motion stage. The petitioners are granted liberty to file a fresh representation before the respondent authorities within a period of 15 days starting from today. After filing of such representations by the petitioners, the respondent authorities are directed to verify the claims made by the petitioners, to initiate acquisition proceeding, if necessary, and also determine the compensation in favour of the petitioners in case the land of the petitioners which has been utilized as submergence area of the Kalma Barrage, by the respondent authorities within a period of 90 days.

With the aforesaid observations, this petition is disposed off.
