Judgment

Heard Mr. Arvind Kumar Tiwari, the learned counsel for petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel representing respondents-1 to 4.
This writ petition has been filed by petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus commanding respondent no.2 i.e. Director General of Police Railway Lucknow to decide the revision filed by petitioner dated 18.10.2021 within the time period fixed by this Court.
Learned counsel for petitioner submits that feeling aggrieved by order dated 21.09.2021 passed by appellate authority, petitioner filed a revision on 18.10.2021 before respondent-2. However no decision has been taken as yet and the said revision has remained pending since 18.10.2021. In short, submission of learned counsel for petitioner is that in spite of the fact that a period of six and a half months has rolled by from the date of filing of aforesaid revision, same has not been decided till date. It is thus contended that interest of justice shall be served in case a direction is issued to respondent-2 to decided aforesaid revision within a time bound period.
Learned Standing Counsel representing respondent-1 to 4 does not oppose the equitable submission urged by learned counsel for petitioner.
Having heard the learned counsel for petitioner, learned Standing Counsel representing respondent 1 to 4 and after considering the facts and circumstances of the case but without going into the merits of the case this court is of the opinion that no useful purpose shall be served in keeping the writ petition pending.
In view of above, the writ petition is disposed of finally with a direction to respondent no.2- the Additional Director General of Police Railway Lucknow, to decide the revision filed by petitioner against order dated 18.10.2021 and pending before him preferably within a period of two months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
