Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is facing trial for offences committed under Sections 8/18, 25 and 29 of NDPS Act, 1985. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the trial against the co-accused persons has been completed by the competent criminal court on 23.12.2017. However, trial against the present petitioner remains pending as he failed to surrender after interim bail was granted by this Court vide order dated 19.02.2015. Learned counsel submitted that the petitioner is facing trial for almost five years, therefore, in the interest of justice, the competent criminal court may be directed to conclude the trial expeditiously.

Having considering aforesaid and particularly keeping in view that the trial against the co-accused persons has already been concluded by the competent criminal court on 23.12.2017, in the interest of justice, the competent criminal court is directed to expedite trial pending against the petitioner and conclude the same within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order.

The IInd bail application is disposed of with the aforementioned directions.
