Judgment

The petitioner states that he is the Managing Director of Korath Tiles and Sanitary which is engaged in the business of selling tiles and sanitary ware items. He state that the workers engaged by the petitioner have approached the Assistant Labour Officer and have filed applications for the issuance of 26 A cards as is evident from Exts.P1 to P4. The grievance of the petitioner is that no action has been taken on the same. It is on these assertions that this writ petition is filed seeking the following relief:-
(i) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P1 to Ext.P4 within a reasonable timeframe fixed by this Hon’ble Court.
The learned Government Pleader submits that the applications can be taken up and disposed of within a period of three weeks.
After having carefully evaluated the contentions raised in this writ petition, the submissions made across the Bar, and the facts and circumstances, I am of the view that this writ petition can be disposed of at the admission stage itself by issuing the following directions:
a) There will be a direction to the respondent to take up, consider and pass appropriate orders on Exts.P1 to P4 after affording an opportunity of being heard, either physically or virtually, to the petitioner herein and other affected parties, if any.
b) Orders, as directed above, shall be passed expeditiously, in any event, within a period of three weeks from the date of production of a copy of this judgment.
c) It would be open to the petitioner to produce a copy of the writ petition along with the judgment before the concerned respondent for further action.
This writ petition is disposed of.
