Hon'ble Pankaj Purohit, J.

Applicant has filed the anticipatory bail application in connection with FIR No.0222 of 2026 dated 21.09.2026 for the offences punishable under Sections 3/5/11(1) of the Uttarakhand Protection of Cow Progeny Act, 2007 and under Section 3/11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, registered with P.S. Piran Kaliar, District Haridwar.

2.

Applicant moved anticipatory bail application before learned First Additional Sessions Judge, Roorkee, District Haridwar, which was rejected by learned First Additional Sessions Judge, on 09.10.2026.

3.

Learned counsel for applicant submits that the applicant has been named in FIR only on the basis of alleged confessional statement of co-accused Taukir who was arrested at the spot and further there is no evidence to prove that the alleged cow progeny animals recovered by the police were meant for slaughtering.

4.

Learned counsel for applicant contends that applicant has been roped in the crime only on the basis of hearsay and police has adopted pick and choose method in implicating the applicant and further there is no criminal history of applicant.

5.

Having heard the learned counsel for parties and having gone through the impugned FIR, this Court is of the view that there is no good ground to grant anticipatory bail to applicant.

6.

Accordingly, anticipatory bail application is rejected.
