Present criminal writ petition has been filed seeking directions for extension of parole for a period of eight weeks from 15.05.2023 in view of the medical condition of the wife who requires immediate surgery.
The petitioner was released on parole on 21.03.2023 for a period of 52 days and was required to surrender before the jail authorities on 15.05.2023. It is stated that, in the meanwhile, the wife of the petitioner has developed a medical condition which requires immediate surgery.
In view of the status report filed on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3, the facts regarding the illness of the petitioner's wife has been verified from the SHO Police Station Baragudha. It is stated that the uterus surgery of Anmol Kaur wife of the petitioner has been advised. She will be operated when the petitioner is out on parole.
In view of the aforesaid, the present petition is allowed. The parole of the petitioner is extended for a period of three weeks w.e.f. 15.05.2023. He is directed to surrender before the Jail Authorities on or before 05.00 p.m on 05.06.2023.
