Judgment
Case of the petitioner is that his brother and the younger sister of his wife both adults, were in love with each other and they have eloped. The relatives of the young lady are headstrong people. They have tried to assault the petitioner and his wife in the past and have also threatened them with dire consequences, if the couple is not produced. The petitioner has already filed a complaint to the Sonamura Police Station to this effect on 14th August, 2020. It is stated that the petitioner fears for his and his wife's safety.
Learned Addl. Govt. Advocate, Mr. Mangal Debbarma stated under instructions that the said written complaint of the petitioner dated 14th August, 2020 is already registered as an FIR and investigation into the allegations made therein has begun.
The State authorities have already taken cognizance of the petitioner's complaint, at this stage no further directions are required to be issued. However, it is provided that a copy of this petition would be placed before the Superintendent of Police of Sipahijala District who I am sure will look into the same and make such necessary arrangement so as to ensure the safety of the petitioner and his family members. Learned Additional Govt. Advocate shall forward a copy of this order with a copy of this petition and the annexures to the Superintendent of Police.
Petition is disposed of accordingly. Pending application(s), if any, also stands disposed of.
